Personal Webspace

WIN's web hosting service is provided to all dial-up and high speed Internet customers. WIN provides up to 30MB of storage for a personal site that you have full access to at all times. Several programming languages are included to create scripts. With this webspace you can create your own site with pictures, graphics, music, sounds and more, a great way to share with family and friends.
WIN Personal Webspace hosting is a FREE service to all WIN Internet customers. There are only two restrictions:

1. Your use of the Personal Webspace must be within the provisions of the Acceptable User Agreement and not violate the Terms and Conditions of Internet use.
2. Your Personal Webspace cannot be used for commercial business purposes. Why? Much of the noncommercial hosting is offered through low-bandwidth servers. Heavy traffic and overloading by business users can cause problems to all users of this service.
   Anyone operating an ecommerce engine, using more than 10MB, or hosting heavy volume business traffic will be asked to use the Commerical Website service.

Web and Email Hosting

WIN's web and email hosting service is designed to give your organization a professional, secure, and stable presence on the Internet. This service is not to be confused with the Personal Webspace feature included with an Internet account. The WIN web and email hosting service is available to anyone with an Internet connection, even if you are not a WIN customer.

Domain Registration, choose .com, .net or .org	FREE
Domain annual renewal	$15
Web Hosting (up to 30MB web storage)	$7/mo+ $25 setup fee

Your chosen domain name is based upon availability. Also, it may not be available as a .com but is available as a .net. Please give us three options listed in preferential order.

Web Site Development and Setup

Create your web page using an HTML editor such as Microsoft Front Page or Macromedia DreamWeaver.  Netscape provides a simple web page composer free with Netscape Navigator.  Save your main page as index.htm

Open Internet Explorer and type ftp://westianet.net in the address bar, or if you have IE7 type ftp://username@westianet.net, where username is the first part of your email address. You will be prompted for your username and password. You will see a folder called web, put your website files in that folder.

 

You can see if it is working by going to your default website which is http://www.westianet.net/~username

Where username is the first part of your email address.

We do have a MySQL version 4.0.14 database server installed with a graphical user interface. If you would like a username and database set up for your website send an email to support@westianet.net

PHP with MySQL support is installed.
